Positive: We attended a wedding at Froyle Park, and The Anchor Inn is just a 3-minute drive away, making it a very convenient place to stay. We arrived on Friday evening for dinner, and the food was excellent. Despite being a large group, the staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout. On Saturday, we had some difficulty finding a taxi to get to the wedding — something to be aware of in the Alton area — but Kevin, the owner, went above and beyond and kindly drove us to the venue himself, which we really appreciated. The rooms were clean, cosy, and comfortable. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely return to explore the town more. Thank you to Kevin, his wife, and the whole team — keep up the great work!

Positive: Lovely rural location, one quiet road running next to it. Really friendly helpful staff. Very comfortable beds, and large showers. Food in the restaurant was gastro-pub style and very delicious! Breakfast was superb. The nearest and nicest stopover if you're visiting Jane Austen's House and Chawton House.

Negative: Slightly tired feeling to the decoration in the pub and the rooms, it could do with a superficial refresh. However, it's important to say that our bedrooms were very clean, and large and well appointed. The usual expected noise up until closing time around 11-11.30, but no rowdiness, owing to a mainly older (quieter!) clientele, as you'd expect with a country pub.

Positive: Loved the interior decor, room had so much character. Really relaxed environment too with friendly staff!

Negative: Only thing was not being able to open window in bedroom, did find it quite hot at night as couldn't seem to turn off radiator
